Around the world, college students are constantly vulnerable to poor mental health & wellness. College campuses lack resources that allow students to relax and calm their anxieties. We propose an enclosed space informed by biophilic design that can be deployed in any space to help students de-stress and increase health & wellbeing.

The CURVE acts as a sensory experience for students to interact with natural elements. A water wall soothes as you look, touch and hear the water fall. Plant life clusters immerse you into a natural setting.

To inform students, a plug-in for any University app is connected to the space so students know: how far, how many people are there and allows them to track their mental health.

SITE RELATIONSHIP

The CURVE modules are a direct response to college related stresses of the pandemic and imbalances caused by working and living in the same interior environment. When social spaces are removed from public access individuals can lose the motivation to work. Depression and physical problems can also result from lack of self care.

Isolation and lack of interaction with the outside environment are problems we continue to face in a technology forward society. The CURVE aims to provide a place of escape by using nature as the solution. The inspiration behind the CURVE are mini greenhouse bubbles and interactive museum exhibits.
